Help with AC in Phoenix

My 08 g37 recently stopped blowing any air. For about a week prior the blower motor seemed to be making a rattling/grinding noise but the air flow was fine then it suddenly stopped. Fuses were good. I swapped the blower and ignition relays and my car started fine. There was nothing jamming the the fan. I highly doubt the control head went bad only for the fan. The compressor kicks on for what that’s worth.

aside from wiring issues, is there anything else that I would need to check before just replacing the blower motor assembly? I don’t have a scope to test it and I don’t really know how to bypass the motor switch/controller or if it’s even possible as it seems to be a part of the assembly. At this point I’ll have to borrow money for the part so I don’t really have funds to spare on anything else.

also, the only video I can find on replacing a g37 blower motor is from a 2013 and it looks different from my 08, am I imagining things or did they change something about the mounting?

Arriving places soaking in sweat is getting old quickly. Please help.

Sounds like the motor itself is shot. Motor has a bearing. Bearing fails starts making noise.. Eventually seizes - or electrical components in motor fail. $60-80 on rockauto.

?

that was my thought. But that’s the video I was referencing. I’m sure I can figure it out. Not like the wiring is vastly different

The FSM has a detailed Self-diagnostic procedure but I'm willing to bet the fan motor kicked the bucket. The R/I seems fairly straightforward:

Sections HAC (Heat/AC Control) and VTL (VENTILATION): G37 FSM
Good luck. Plz update us on how you make out.
