Recently, my 2012 G37S VDC dash light has started to occasionally turn on solid (not blinking) randomly, and in every case not in conjunction with hard driving to any degree. Stopping, turning off the car and re-starting turns it off again, but at some point that really doesn't appear to be mileage dependent it turns back on. The car is lowered, but has been for 40,000 miles, all suspension components are good and tight, and although my brake pads are about half their thickness when new I feel that they will not require replacement for quite some time yet. Any ideas?

Low brake fluid or worn tires

Thanks for the quick response but nope. Brake fluid level is fine, almost exactly between high and low level indicators, and the tires are new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S's with less than 1000 miles. BTW, these are beyond a doubt the best I have ever owned, dry or wet, quiet too. Just incredible tires.

Top off the brake fluid reservoir and report back. Seriously, top it off.

Check for brake line leaks especially if your brake pedal is mushy

OK you guys, it looks like (so far) you were right! Topped up brake fluid to full mark, and around 500 miles later, no weird VDC light showings. Cheers!
