Life span of the stock battery?

the Optima Red Top in my Evo is the factory original and still kicking (its a 2008). i'll probably go with one of those if the one in the G dies.
i always throw my cars on the Battery Tender every so often for a full charge, because with all the electronic gizmos (and aftermarket sub, etc) and short trips, im sure it doesnt always get a full charge.
