Tech Package In-Cabin Air Filters

Tech Package In-Cabin Air Filters
So having a G37S sedan, one of the packages that we were not privy to was the tech package.
It would have been nice to have the fancier cruise control, but it's not used often anyway...seldom if at all, to be honest.
However, the more-advanced ACCS (Advanced Climate Control System) has Plasmacluster technology, automatic recirculation, odor removal, allergen removal, and more, all to 9x.xx% air scrubbed within 5 minutes. For someone who has severe allergies, this feature seemed almost critical.
I didn't delve into the moving parts that achieved automatic recirculation. That'd be nice to have.
Looking at the parts for the blower motor, only 2 parts were different: the air filter, and the blower door actuator.
Plasmacluster technology is pretty much a Sharper Image iONIC Breeze, and I'm guessing that's what the blower door is. The ions charged actually generate ozone. Ozone works by being a smell sense blocker and is actually bad for your health, so I also left the blower door actuator out of immediate consideration.
All the remaining functionality is in the air filter.
This air filter, unlike the OEM replacement, is rigid with a foam seal. Filter bypass is the #1 reason why microparticles make it past the blower. This solves that issue.
This also has Activated Charcoal on one side, and Grade Seed (for the allergens) on the other.
It also has Polyphenol which helps with defogging the glass sans-A/C.
I have not seen a case where this was interchanged between G37 models. However, the FX50 guys have been able to interchange these filters. I'm gonna be getting one
OEM Filter: 999A2-VX000
OEM Filter with Charcoal: 999A2-VX001
OEM Filter w/ Tech Package: B7277-1CA1A

I am fortunate that the company I work for makes HVAC's for Honda. The most expensive (long life) filter is $1.19 our cost but we buy in bulk, no tax, etc... None of those are more than $5 cost. $tealers.

Seems like 999A2-VX000 is a very common cabin filter for Nissan/Infiniti.
I did some basic searching for a replacement cabin filter for your vehicle.
I dont have a reason to believe this won't fit, but I also don't have a Coupe to test this on.
To get a definitive answer, see if your dealer Parts department quotes you this part number. If they do, then the Tech Package part number will also fit.

I'll report back when I go down to install it.

the old filter arrow points up, while the new filter arrow points at airflow.
the tech package filter has a foam surround to seal, and it seals with the top of the blower.
confusing when replacement products don't follow convention =/

smitty37g:
the pic of the old filter has an arrow next to the word "UP"
the pic of the new filter has an arrow poinging to the word "AIR"
>>>The arrows in the 2 pics are pointing in different directions.
So either the arrows don't always point toward airflow
or
one of the filters are installed wrong.
Perhaps the old filter was taken out and then put back in backwards for the picture shrugs
The tech package filter won't work properly if installed backwards because it's a multi-layered media.
