Battery Issue - Keeps needing jump - 2009 G37x
I have a 2009 G37x. It's a certified pre-owned that's under warranty, and I got it about two years ago. The battery seems to completely drain within 5 minutes with the hazard lights on. When I get the jump, they tell me the battery is completely fine. I've had problems with the battery in the past, dying for no apparent reason maybe 3 or 4 times in the last two years.
The battery is already at this point 5 years old, should I just get a new one? or is there a larger issue here?
thanks

Hey man,
I am new to the G family but from what I have read is these cars are really picky about cranking voltage and if you have a low battery they don't like to turn over. 5 years might be stretching that battery especially if cold weather is starting to rear it's ugly head now in your area.
I'd get autozone to check it or get another set of eyes on it. Also if you have any aftermarket mods like an alarm system or dashcam etc make sure all those are unplugged so you can rule it out. My gut feeling is it's the battery and the dealership is playing dumb (maybe try another dealership).
Good luck!

I just replaced the battery in my 08, it was pushing through all 6 years. I'm running a sound system without a secondary battery or capacitor. I was setting up a bluetooth streamer for only 2 mins, and after turning off/on to confirm settings it wouldn't turn over. Replaced it with a Red Top Optima battery. Been gravy since.
Just a tip you might already know of, make sure all lights are off as well as interior lights and try to start that way. Sometimes it will turn over with just a little juice.

get a new battery. interstate batteries are decent and are not proned to terminal corrosion like many autozone batteries. after putting in new battery i would check for a parasitic draw.

Had a dashcam hardwired into my car for a month. Battery died shortly after, guess it wasn't strong enough to support the cam with the amount of driving i did. Replaced the old with an Optima Yellow, car runs great now, no problems.
