The infamous (and elusive) cabin noise
So, I have seen that cabin noise is quite common with the G sedans and coupes. However, my '12 coupe is just about a year old and has been to the dealership numerous times for excessive cabin noise. Quite frustrating when you pay top dollar for a car. The front dash cowl had to be removed to apply felt adhesive underneath it. The passenger door panel clips kept breaking and falling out until the whole door panel had to be replaced because it was "defective." The passenger side front A-pillar had to be reinforced with felt adhesive. My latest noise is coming from the rear passenger side almost near the headrest of the back seat. It is most prominent over bumpy roads and uneven surfaces. The dealership stated that they took a ride with the shop foreman, who confirmed the noise and supposedly reinforced it with foam adhesive. The knocking/rattle is still present.
Is anyone else going this crazy with cabin noise? I find it to be one of the biggest turn offs about the car.

The more you try to fix it another issue pops up to take its place. I had a perfectly quiet cabin and took it in to replace my steering wheel trim that was rubbing off for a hard plastic piece that looks great and now that exact piece is what makes a buzzing sound over 40mph.

I have a dash rattle right in front of driver. Not sure where that is coming from. Only happens when temperature is less than 50F. I don't think it is the windshield cowl since there are felt tape underneath already.
Afraid to take it to dealership because they might start ripping the dash out and introduced scratches and more noise to cabin.
Anyone know what might be the cause of this rattle noise in front of driver? Agreed that this a big turn off for this car.
Thank you.

My '09 G37 was solid, no rattles at all, until this week. There's some sort of rattle in the front passenger side area. Yeah, bummer.

I have a constant ticking noise coming from my drivers side window at what "sounds" like ear level. A swift bump with my left elbow will usually fix it for a minute or two.
Much worse with bass during music. Opening and closing my window doesnt fix it.

The dealership solution to rattles is to add a bunch of foam tape to things. So buy some and go crazy in the rattle's general direction.
The reason dealerships also create more rattles is because they need to take those panels off to get to the rattles. So add foam tape everywhere!
