Wheel bearing and spacers
Just brought the G to the dealership for routine maintenance and I'm being told the front driver side bearing is going bad/leaking. They want to charge 550 with labor for a new bearing.
How hard is an install for this type of issue? How much would a replacement bearing/hub cost and what type of tools would I need?
Also being told that the warranty will not cover this due to spacers. Anyone have any luck with getting this type of issue covered by warranty?

All you need are metric sockets. Good Wrench, and Screw Drivers.
If you need to buy them, make sure they are short ones instead of deep wall sockets. No space for deep sockets.
1. Remove Steering angle sensor.
2. Un-Bolt 4 bolts from the back that secures the hub assembly.
But before getting to your hub bad news is that you need to remove calipers and the rotors.
Look Here for instructions on how to remove rotors and calipers.

Removing the rotor and the caliper is actually the hard part. So IMO +$500 is not bad to replace them at the dealer.
Or just remove the spacers and take your G to another dealer for warranty repair.

Ok, thanks for the help.
Any thoughts on the wheel spacers? The shop that installed them said they've never heard of that before and think the dealer is trying to screw me over. Should I be worried that other bearings will go out?

Sorry I thought you needed to replace both left and right hub assembly. $550 I think is rip off for one side. Pair of hub costs less than $200. So maybe worth to DIY.
Stoptech makes Hub Assembly for our car, so you might want to go that way if you don't want OEM.

I have seen hubs, or suspension bushings going out due to brake pedal vibrations, but never due to spacers.
Did you feel any vibrations when you go past 60mph? Or did you feel any vibrations when you were braking?

There is no noise as of now and the tech said there is no play. I'm assuming I am fine for now. Trying to figure out a way to get it covered under warranty without taking the spacers off and bringing to a different dealership.

60K miles on car. Grinding/growling noise in the front end starting at about 20mph. Gets louder as speed increases and volume follows the speed of the car. Suspected a wheel bearing on the driver's side front. Took off the tire, sensor, caliper/rotor, pounded out the drive axle - splines were stuck; four bolts on the back of the wheel hub and then pounded out the hub. Checked the rotation of the bearing and it was very rough. Bad. Reversed the steps for installation. Noise gone. About two hours total. BTW found the part at the Nissan dealer. Old part number has been superseded.
