Emission on a 2011
So i got the car and went to get it registered in VA from PA and was told i would have to get an emissions test before i could get my plates... they still game me a set but only for a month. Anyone have to do an emission test on a car that was 2 years old. Seems stupid to me.

Depends on the state. Some places have to do them every year no matter how old the car is. In Texas Harris county (Houston) and certain other counties require emissions testing annually, others don't. I literally live on the other side of a creek that is the county line of Chambers county so none of my cars require emissions testing even though 90+% of my driving is in Harris county. It goes by where the car is registered. If you still have an address or good friends or relatives with an address in PA keep it registered there.

Suck it up. Just register it in VA and don't **** around with registering it in another state. It will pass emissions for a long time if you don't F-around with the plumbing too much. If you can afford that car, you can afford paying for a test every couple years. It's just part of living in this part of the country with crappy air quality.
