Rattle Noise From Rear Of Car

So shortly after buying my 08 G37S Coupe I started getting a weird noise from the back that I could hear from the inside of the car after starting it.

Since, the noise has gotten louder and more noticable.

The noise will last anywhere from 3 seconds after starting the car and has lasted as long as 60 seconds after starting however once the sound goes away it WILL NOT return until i turn the car off then back on again.

.

I have also noticed around the same time the above issue started to happen, when I turn the car to the ON position without starting the car I get a different sound coming from the same area that again will last anywhere from 3 seconds up to about 15 or 20 seconds.
Once the sound goes away it will not return unless I turn the car off and and then back to the on position again.

.

.

In the back of the car there is a part that looks kind of like a starter and it sounds like noise is coming from there although I could very well be wrong. I have attached a picture with the part as reference.

The car is currently at the dealership now however they called me eariler today and stated these noises have to do with the independent suspention making adjustements after the car is turned on?
I do not see how this is possible and I requested they look in to it further as the car was not doing it when i bought it 4 months ago.

Any information on these issues or the part in question would be great so I can relay this back to the dealer.

That's the rear wheel active steer motor.... The dealer can't figure out the cause on their own??

Thats what I thought. It doesnt make sense that the rear end would need any type of adjustments and even if it did, I dont think that is the sounds they make. I am not sure why the dealer thinks those sounds are normal.

Does anyone else with the S coupe have these sounds? The dealers next move is to find another Sports version to see if it does the same thing.

Again I am not 100% sure thats where its coming from however it seems to make the most sense to me since I can feel the car slightly move when the car is in the on position without the car started as well.

Good luck. Also just fyi, rwas is a relatively rare option... S coupes don't all have it automatically.
