"Brake Assist" warning (and ICC disabled) - rain?

"Brake Assist" warning (and ICC disabled) - rain?
Not had the G37 long, but have found that in medium-ish rain the "BA" brake assist warning comes on. (And - as I guess it uses the same radar sensor - the intelligent cruise control deactivates)
Once the rain eases, the warning goes and I can re-engage ICC.
Just wondering if it is normal for the sensor to be affected by rain like this?
