SES light came on checked code P0420

Ok so i bought my 08 G37s coupe like a month ago with 120xxx kms on it, one simple day i decided to fill up the tank at shell and mind you i always put 91 octane no lower, after 20-25kms of driving the SES lights goes on so i go to part source to check out the codes and its apparantly either an o2 sensor on bank 1 or a catalytic converter. My question to you guys should i be worried if its a catalytic converter or just a minor tune up with a 02 sensor? Ohh and is it true we g owners have an 8 year warranty on our catalytic converters? if so then

Yeah true the cats have warranty for 8 years, i had same code, replace your cats and be done with it. Sensors are not the issue my cats failed under 50,000 miles

ohh crap why are our cats so weak? my last car lexus is300 had exact same problem it was either cat or sensor so i saw that as an opportunity to put in headers, BIG mistake lol gas mileage killed me on that car, loving the g though. btw thats for the feedback.

OK so that day when i filled up i filled up with shell 91 octane i ran that til empty so i changed my gas station to petro (canadian gas station) and i also cleared the code before that and so far after 60kms of driving around the code has come back yet, oh and i havent fixed anything yet no o2 sensor change or catalytic converter change so would it be the gas that made the light come up? im so confused lol like i was going to do a diagnostic check to make sure what the problem was for sure and the code hasnt come on yet so im just waiting. but would gas really play a factor in this??
