This is wrong!

If you send your oils in and the particulates are within parameters, that is one thing. To make blatant statement like the above is is another [read wrong]. You have no idea how he/she drives his/her car.

I could write an essay about the advantages, disadvantages, and contingencies of oil/fluid/general service. Suffice it to say you paid too much for a service that might not have needed BUT certainly will not hurt your vehicle. If you can afford higher end maintenance, I say go for it. The caveat being - there is no need to waste money.

To make a statement that my advise is "wrong" makes as many assumptions on your part as you accuse myself of making. I base my advise on my many years of automotive experience. This was not a discussion about technical details on lab results of oil samples or even about how hard he was on his car.
Since no adverse conditions were brought to light or mentioned my advise based on average usage is sound.

Just consult the svc book u get with the car and follow it

air filters and cabins are 1 yr/15k
coolant is 2 yr 30k unless extended fluid from manuf
trans is hard to determine, after 3k with matic s i looks dark
, i usually check at 30 aqnd go from there
diff fluid dont do untill 60k, unless ur man specifies at 30, of all the g i have serviced over the yeaqrs, never did them atr 30k, mostly at 60k, some of them at 105k!
Never rec a p.s. Flush to any cust, b.s., if it is low, there is a leak
brake fluid i do at 4 years or 60k, every 2 on very hard driven cars, but almost never!
Plugs @ 105k
ask me anything, all i work on are inf veh

All I can say is that I agree with this advice completely, especially the first sentence.
Cheers,
Daniel

Why is it called a fluid exchange? Do they take your cars fluid and exchange it into another car or something?

+1 Go by the owner's manual. Dealer just trying to line his pocket by emptying yours.

Is it possible to do it cheaper somewhere else? Anyone know in this area?
Perform rear differential service (Found rear differential fluid to be
dirty/contaminated)
- DID YOU ASK TO SEE THE SAMPLE? 30K FLUID CHANGE IS A GOOD IDEA. A OIL CHANGE SPOT WILL CHARGE YOU $30-$40 AT MOST.

Replace cabin/HEPA micro filter (Found cabin/HEPA micro filter
dirty) $115.00 -
FILTER ARE $35-$50. TO POP IT IN TAKES 15-20MINS.

Perform coolant fluid exchange service (Found coolant level to be low) $140.00 - New 2010 and a late build 2009's came with long life (10yrs) blue coolant. CHECK YOUR COLOR. REGARDLESS COOLANT DOES NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN. MAKE SURE THE RESERVOIR BOTTLE DOESN'T HAVE RUSTY DEPOSITS/COLOR - AND YOU CAN LEAVE IT ALONE FOR AT LEAST 60K (ps: ask them to show you the leak first)

Perform power steering system fluid exchange service (Found power
steering fluid level to be low) $109.95 S -
IF ITS LOW, ITS LEAKING. ASK THEM BEFORE YOU DRAIN IT AND REFILL IT AND SEND ME ON MY WAY, SHOW ME THE LEAK FIRST. THIS FLUID IS GENERALLY FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR.

Perform brake system fluid exchange (Found brake fluid to be
dirty/contaminated) $139.95
- THIS IS A GOOD SERVICE TO DRAIN IT, BUT YOU CAN HOLD OFF TILL 50K

I just changed my cabin air filter for the first time, and I bought the Wix filter per someone's advice in this forum. It only cost $17.31, but you said it ranges from 35-50. Did I get a crappy filter? I'm wondering if I should get a better one now...? Please advise.

Oh, I see!

But I bought it at a regular store with the markup already baked into the price. The filter didn't have that fancy center line running through it like the OEM filter. I don't know, I'm just second guessing my purchase. Should've done more research prior.
