Overfilling MT casing + Rear Diff

I understand overfilling in general the transmission case is bad in general, but does anyone know by how much? Recently took my sedan to a buddy's shop to get some fluids flushed. I brought him 4 quarts of MT fluid and apparently he took it as 4 quarts needed. He filled it approximately 3 quartz 24 ounces. Black Betty suggested 3 quartz and 4 ounces. Knowing that some hoses could BURST, I was initially really concerned, but ...20 ounces? Not sure.

Same goes for the rear differential. ANYONE? THANKS!!!

Eric

That's not my suggestion, it's the stated capacity in the FSM. If it's somehow overfilled, just remove the fill plugs and it will drain out down to the level of the bottom of the fill hole. Make sure the car is sitting level. That's the proper level.

I changed out my MT oil today and she took 7 pints to the fill hole and I checked that the car was level.

Yea, don't worry about how much you put in there. Just have the car level, and stop putting more in when it just drains back out.
