It is a piece of precision machinery: You should "care".
The next one to rent it might be you!

Found a decent deal at Auto Zone. For $29, you can get 5 quarts of Mobil Synthetic oil and an mobil oil filter. I am sure Infiniti would charge you double for that oil change. I am going to stock up so I can do my first three oil changes with this stuff. By then, it should be back on sale. I will be changing every 3750 per the maintenance schedule. I do a lot of short trips.

From what Ive been reading most G owners go for the Penzoil Platinum or Ultra. Is that the best there is out there?

On previous cars Ive tried Amsoil, Mobil 1 and others... but what is god sent for the G?

It's more of a preference. I personally use Pennzoil Platinum because it has good UOAs and a lot of ppl on BITOG recommend it as well.

Best is very much opinion. Look at the UOAs others have posted, look at your driving patterns, then pick an oil. You might want to have UOAs done the first couple of times to make sure whatever you choose is performing well.

For the record, I am one that used to use Mobil1 and moved to Penn Ultra. My UOAs were much better.

What are your OCIs using the Penn Ultra?
