Stillen gen 3 owners
Just installed mine and I'm starting to hear sounds from the engine compartment. Rattling, clicking,, something like that.
I checked both sides and it seams that the passenger side has some play, up and down play. Drivers side is solid but in the car it sounds like its coming from the driver side....hmmmm
K took some pics and noticed driver side is touching the wheel well?
On side note, I notice the computer trying to learn the car all over again.
From having the battery unplugged for over an hour, maybe it was reset?
It's acting the way when I first got the car.

You need to check the installation, and move some things around until it's not touching the shock tower, and then secure things down. With silicone fittings you have some room for adjustment. I would loosen the hose clamps, readjust everything, then tighten it down, ensuring it's not touching the tower and you should be good to go.

I had both of those happen and so I went to Home Depot, bought some stick on felt and cut two small pieces and put it in between the piping and the metal. the pressure of the piping keeps it there and no more noise!

This is great info. I'm picking up my car today after having the Gen 3 intake installed yesterday....anything I should look out for other than what's already been identified in this thread (contact pts that may cause vibrations/rattling) when I pick it up? I plan on driving it around prior to leaving the dealership to see if there are any issues and hopefully get them resolved right away.
Thanks, all!
Thanks, all!

That pic that crackheadmonsta posted is usually the biggest issue. You don't want that metal touching the pipe. On my install, I have 3-4mm, but put in some rubber hose in there anyways. I might try hispeed-lowdrag's stick on felt if the rubber falls out again (which it has before).

I don't understand how making the holes larger will make it rattle less. Doesn't it give more room for the pipes to move? I just installed mine yesterday and the hole I made is a perfect fit for the intake pipes: no excessive movement and less plastic to cut. I also put cut up the intake connectin hose from my hold intake to put it where it could touch any metal to prevent it cutting through the pipes. I have pictures of the install but I do not know how to post pics. Although my driver side intake is almost touching the wheelwell, I cannot even move the pipe for the love of me, so I think it should be fine.My passenger side has a little wiggle room though.

Thanks, everyone, for the tips on what to look for prior to picking up my car today. So far, after about 60 miles of driving around with the new intake, I don't hear any rattles or feel any strange vibrations. Some pics below...pardon the poor quality as all I have on me this wknd is my Crackberry. Note that the dealer placed some foam on the driver side pipe.
The sound is great....but like the original poster noted, I think the car is learning my driving habits all over again. My analog clock was behind, so perhaps by cutting off the power during install the "learned traits" were lost? I have the 7AT if that makes a difference. If that's the case, I'm ok with that b/c I was babying the car for the first 1,200 miles anyway and am now at 1,800 and can push it as hard as I want! Of course, it could be my mind playing tricks on me as well since the car is louder now at slower speeds/RPMs, where prior to installing the CAI the car had to be at higher speeds/RPMs to generate a loud sound - if that makes any sense.

I noticed better MPG as well when I installed my Gen3. I don't know if it's psychological due to a change in driving habits or if the A/F is better (in terms of MPG) or what but if you looked at the chart of MPG each tank it was obvious where the pre-gen3/post gen3 tank was.
