let's see you have a vert, because I don't have that light on my dash.I would venture to say you have a malfunction with the convertable top.bring it to the dealer, the list why its lit could be endless.

Verts don't come with a manual?

It's definitly either not fully closed, or a faulty sensor. If it's the latter take it to the dealer

thanks for all your feedback! however mine is just a normal g37 coupe not convertible! technically it's really a skyline 370gt JDM. ever since one of the shops tried to connect to the on board computer its been showing ever since...

anyone knows how to get the car to show fault code? so that i can narrow it down?

That indicator is not listed in any of the 09 owner's manuals. I checked the US sedan/coupe and convertible versions online. It must be used by the skyline model which by your comment means it isn't a US model? In any case it looks like a trip to the dealer is needed.

this a safety popup-hood function that pops the hood upwards on a frontal collision... that way you don't end up with a moose on your face :-)

It's in the Nissan Skyline Coupes and not on the infiniti I believe

Well I’m confused. If you really have a Skyline 370gt JDM, you have a host of other items not listed in the G37 owner’s manual, like right-hand drive and some dash buttons written in Japanese.

This adds a little clarity from one of his other posts:
Recently i have purchased the base model (Type P) skyline 370GT here in singapore. This base model doesnt come with alot of the goodies that your G37 under the badge of infiniti. Take for example the steering controls for the audio and the paddle shift for gears.
OP: It's clear that you need to look at the owner's manual for that version of car that is significantly different than the US model. Your bigger problem seems to be you're modding that car which may be affecting the BCM and resulting in the problem you're seeing.
