Whats best for the car?

Ive herd it from both sides of things but wanted to get the majority of g37 owners opinions. I dont like leaving my car in gear after ive parked it. I throw the E-brake up and leave it be.(outside of hills of course). But ive also noticed that my car likes to by shut off with the clutch fully pressed in, doesnt make any chatter noises, its a smooth shut off. Let me know what you guys think

I usually just leave it in neutral and don't press the clutch down to shut it off. Don't think it makes a difference.

I've done it a couple of times and it actually does reduce the chatter noise a bit.

no point in pushing the clutch while turning the car off. Just puts unnecessary wear on the TOB. Clutch chatter is normal in just about every heavy clutch...unfortunately.

I've never not pushed the clutch in on any standard transmission I've ever owned------and then I always leave it in gear. 1st gear.

Up here, the emergency brake cable eventually gets corrosion in it and ceases up.
Not good at -20 to have your back brakes locked and be stranded.
It's happened to me, and since then I don't ever use it.

I've been driving manual transmissions since 1968, and most of those I drove into the ground.
I've never had one transmission problem of any kind in any of those vehicles.

I'm just sayin'-

I used to just pull the e-brake. I started leaving it in 1st about a year ago after I saw my coworker running after he car that she failed to firmly pull the e-brake on.

My other friend leaves it in first and never pulls the e-brake. I think the majority of MT drivers just pull the e-brake. To each his/her own.
