Bottomed out --> Svc. Engine light appears, thoughts?

I bottomed out just a lil bit on a speed bump yesterday, and shortly thereafter my service engine soon light came on. The car runs/sounds fine. Any thoughts? (see sig for mods) Thanks!

Could have damaged / hit your cats or done something to your 02 sensor. You'll have to get under there and take a look.

I really hate to say this, but there's a big chance you damaged one of the sensors. If you damaged the piping you would actually hear it (becomes very raspy - fart can'ish). Can't think of anything else down there that would trigger that SES. I could be wrong though.

LOL .. glad to here that someone else in this world has my same problem ! lol

I bottom out like everyday bro .. dont feel bad. The other day i went over like a gate track and i thought it was shorter but it really wasnt .. well after i hit the SHIIIT out of the bottom of my car the CEL turned on...

Its your cats, you prolly hit them and need to either rehit them to put them back in place or go to infiniti and ask them too look for you. Once i bottomed out the car the other day my exhaust actually sounds better lol .. but it has that rasp sound now that Sam is talking about ..

It happens to the best of us =/ GL

I swear that I've had the CEL light on for bottoming out my car on speedbumps and steep entrances and I've gotten the CEL shortly right after but then weeks later without trying I'll bottom out again and the CEL will go away and everything is normal again ... Lol

It's happens =\

rofl! But man seriously if you dent or flaten you exhaust pipe guys you will lose horsepower. Now if you want to tear a hole in it for that open header horsepower!

For sure it's the cells on cats! Solution = Eibachs

Hard to say, but I'm guessing a new sensor.

Do you have a Cobb AP?? If you do, u can scan your car and that will tell you what is causing the Svc engine light to appear....

yea, it's most likely a sensor that will need to be replaced. Here's a little advice, go over bumps, up or down hills at an angle to prevent you from bottoming out in case you didn't you that yet...
