370Z filter in a G37?

I need to change the oil in my 2009 G37. I want to stay with the OEM filter but I don't want to drive 90 minutes to the infiniti dealer or pay $6 shipping on the internet. I would rather go to my local Nissan dealer and pick up a 370Z filter. Does anyone know if the G37 filter and 370Z filter are identical?

Thanks

Steve

If this is your first oil change, I recommend going to the infinti dealership because they check for other things other than changing your oil and if there's any problems they may be able to fix it over warranty.

A '95-'98 Nissan Maxima will fit as well but is slightly larger in capacity.

VHR motors use tiny azz filters. You should see what AP1/2 filters look like. hahaha

Anybody know of a Nissan/Infiniti application that's much bigger then these tiny OEM ones made for the VQHR? The ones I use are only a little bigger.

I think S2000 filters fit fine. Although I haven't tried one yet.

Why do you feel that you need a bigger filter? I've cut open filters after 17,000 mile OCI (with synthetic oil, of course), and they still looked new and clean.

Becaue I simnply have a personal preference for a larger oil filter. Slightly larger oil capacity (not by much) and a larger overall surface area of filtration media. Necessary? No. Just a preference.
