valve ticking issue with 2009 g37s!
I know there were tsb's regarding this issue for the 08's....but i have an 09 and i would bet the farm that this problem is also present with the 09's....however i dont see any tsb's addressing this...anyone else with same issue? i just called woodchester infiniti (local dealer) and asked them about the ester oil fix and she said they can use ester oil for the oil change but would charge me...i said ive read on these forums that the first one was to be on the house but she has no idea of this and has asked me to bring the tsb...problem is, its for the 08's....anyone have any thoughts/experience with this?

The TSB (ITB08-039) sepcifically lists both 2008 AND 2009 G37s (CV36) since it's applicable to the 3.7 VVEL engine regardless of model year.
I agree that they should provide the first oil change on their dime to ensure the ticking you're hearing is related to the oil.

well i went to dealership yesterday and they denied paying for it....saying there is not a tsb for this model year...maybe they are only paying for first oil change in the states...cant say i have read any canadians saying their first oil change was free to be honest...different countries, different policies i guess...BTW $135 CDN!! ($122USD)

The TSB is for a software update. The revised TSB throws in an oil change to get people to use Nissan's Ester oil. The software revision was not changed in the revised TSB.
To me, it seems that if your car was made sometime after the original TSB, then your car already has the updated software and you do not qualify for the (revised) TSB. The only cars which qualify for the TSB are those with an earlier version of the VVEL software.
