Clutch Worn?
Hey Guys,
For those 6MT owners.
Has any of you had to replace the clutch yet on the G37S from wear?
And if so at what miles?
I'm a spirited driver and I just noticed a couple days ago the clutch seems really soft. I also think there is power loss so I'm assuming this clutch is worn.
PS: I've got 8,200 + miles on her and I've made a couple of burnt clutch launches in the past... learned my lesson

Is it slipping? I am at 12k miles, but i don't have any clutch issues as yet.
1. Take it to about 15-20mph
2. put it in 6th
3. floor it.
4. (a) revs stay near 1k and and car struggles to pick up speed
(b) revs rise and car doesn't really go anywhere
5. if (b) clutch is slipping.
1. get into an empty parking lot
2. put car into 1st gear
3. pop the clutch, lol.
4. if car jumps forward very aggressively.. (as it should) then its fine
I think this is what i was taught a while back to see if my clutch is worn or not. I could be wrong though.

Ok, I tried both methods and it passed those methods.
But man its like soft as hell... I guess power is there because I did a routine quarter through u turn full throttle burn out and it reacted like it always had from the start and it burns second gear nasty still so this is weird.
I thought I had seen a post earlier about changing fluid makes a difference.
Anyone else have this issue? Either way I'm going to buy a performance clutch so as long as it last for a couple more months I'm good to go.
I'll have dealership look it over first though. Thanks Again!

UPDATE:
It rained hard just now throughout Most Miami while I was driving around...whats weird is the clutch seemed a bit stiffer in the rain...and car was hard to keep straight with very little throttle...I assume it hasn't rained for awhile in Miami so roads have lots of oil on the top layer.. but The clutch seems better no doubt.
Could this be some tranny gear oil or something got on the Clutch pad some how?
I've heard of this being an issue in regards to a broken leaking seal?

No leak. First thing I did was check it. Going to go back out on road now since its dried up to see if its a cooling issue as well and to see if it goes back to soft...

20k miles and no issues, you're fine.

I had the same issues, ways of fixing this: Borrow a friend's riced out Honda Civic with stock clutch, drive it around for about 20 mins, then go back into your car and drive your car like normal. The clutch should feel extremely stiff!
