Personally, I'd recommend changing your filter and topping off after about 5K and then oil and filter after another 5K but that's just me and my personal experience with Nissan engines and synthetics.

Royal Purple or Mobil 1 it really doesn't matter as both are high quality fully synthetic oils. Any quality synthetic will work.

agreed... Blackstone labs always shows full synthetic and synthetic blend oils (i.e. mobil 1) lasting upwards of 10,000 miles, and still a lot of life left past that.

the dealer will NOT replace with any kind of synthetic (you MIGHT be able to get them to if you have a friend in the service dept.) they will just change it out with regular...go to a shop or you can even go to walmart (if you trust them with your car ) and tell them you want mobil1 or whatever and have them do it. the synthetic oils are SOO much better for your engine in the long run

The Warrenty's documented here:http://www.infinitiwarranty.com/deal...nty-plans.aspx

MAINTENANCE RECORDS
Receipts covering the performance of regular maintenance
should be kept in the event questions
arise concerning maintenance. The receipts should
be transferred to subsequent owners.

Page 9-6 in your manual documents the recommendation, basically any oil that's API certified, even has a picture of the seal to look for. Standard viscosity recommendation is SAE 5w30, so any oil that meets these standards would not void your warrenty. The wording is such that you could even use 0w30 if you're in a cold climate.

Select only engine oils that meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) certification or International Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC) certification and SAE viscosity standard. These oils have the API certification mark on the front of the container.

Monitoring miles and changing is straight forward but what if you don't put on much mileage? How old should the oil be before changing?
