Question Factory VS. Aftermarket Windshield?

Minding my business on the road when a rock gets hurled towards my windshield and chips it. This chip later turns in to the Grand Canyon when it started snowing.

Any differences between Infiniti's windshield and an aftermarket piece?

Ray Catena Infiniti wants $710 plus installation!

^ Holy shny-kees! Dude call your insurance company. I know my insurance co would replace mine free of charge... But the replacement windshield should be just as good as your OEM in my opinion. Just as long as they install and seal it properly. Should be A-OK...

But yeah, contact your Insurance Co before droppin your pants for $700+

Check your deductible and IMHO get aftermarket glass. My oem glass cracked at 2k miles on surface streets. My aftermarket has been going strong now up to 10k miles. Its got the same blue tint. I only had to pay a $100 deductible to get it fixed and the guys from Allstar Glass came to my house because my car wouldnt make it up their driveway lol.

Why would you get a nissan glass? Which nissan glass actually fits?

that sucks. in fl, insurance covers all windshield claims for free. if i was replacing it, i would stick with the oem glass. aftermarket fits fine but id just rather have oem for resale.

Agreed, my deductible is 200 or 500, I don't remember, but I have a crack in mine too from the rain!!! Well not the rain, the id!ots driving in the rain, flying straight through puddles putting the water 10 feet in the air with a small rock in it, bingo. But either way I guess its cheaper to go through the insurance company rather then paying out of pocket... I don't think your insurance will go up either..

go with oem....aftermarket glass is a tad thinner than oem glass and is more prone to cracks
