Worried about a whiny sound when gassing..

I am getting this odd sound when I throttle the gas pedal. The sound is very prominent at night. Much more so than during the day.

It sounds like a high-pitched squeal that builds up as I press further down on the gas. Like.. "eeeeeEEEEE"

Does anyone have any clue what I am talking about?

Yea might want to take it to the dealer... Never heard of a 5AT making any 'whining" noises... Our 6MT's make TOO MANY noises... Hehehe

Have you changed the Stereo? If so you could be catching an alternator whine through the speakers. You'd just need to seperate the power from the speaker wires more. Typically you want to run the power and ground down the opposite side as your speaker wire.

I have 5 A/T and have never heard any whine noise ever. Not in A, DS or full manual mode

I think Graham's suggestion could be right.

The cable for the subwoofers in the back wasn't properly grounded so I had that fixed. That's about when I started hearing the whiny noise. I'm going to have that checked out.
