Voice Commands

Sorry but Just got mine and is it possible to control the climate system by voice? If so I can't seem to figure out how to find the option for it to turn it on. Or do you even have to turn it on????

Yes it is, but you'll have to buy my car to do it. I believe this is one of the functions that went bye-bye with the later 08s. For some reason Infiniti dropped a lot of the voice commands once they got through the initial 2008 early builds. No one seems to really know why.

I say "temperature 75 degrees" and she says "temperature 75 degrees" and it moves to 75. If you can't do that then you have a later model and that functionality has been removed.

Yup, the newer G37's don't have the same number of commands as the earlier ones. All you can do is turn on or off the A/C. You can't assign a temp with a voice command. Some people say it's because Infiniti removed some of the commands for safety reasons but who knows.

It'd be RIDICULOUSLY WACK if they put the voice commands back into the 09's...

Shoot, I tested out the G37 when it first came out last August and I distinctly remember being wooed by the feature rich voice commands. I didn't even realize they were gone until AFTER I bought my car a few months later.

But regardless, I still love it.

I think what we're all hoping for is that Infiniti mass produced a bunch of the early version Nav units for replacement inventory. So if we have an issue and they replace the Nav unit, we'll get the one with all the commands. That's why we're waiting for a member of this forum to have theirs replaced to see if that occurs.

I use it when I change audio inputs. Makes it easy to switch from IPOD to MusicBox, etc.

I had mine replaced by the dealer cause of a defect...

but the parts guy had to specify (per my request) a match to earlier VIN in order for me to have the functionality.
