mixing 86 & 93 octane
I stopped to get gas this morning. I told the guy to fill it up with premium(I live in NJ). I wasn't really paying much attention, I was playing around with the radio. I still had half a tank, so it didn't take that long. I paid with my debit card, so I didn't really pay attention to how much it cost either. Well I found the reciept in my pocket later in the day. When I looked at it, the price/gallon was what it cost for regular(86 octane) not premium 93 octane. Would it be bad for the car to leave the 86 octane gas in there? Would the fact that there was still 0.5 tank 93 octane in the tank help any? Should I let the tank run as close to empty as possible or just keep mixing in more 93 octane gas? Maybe I'm just being a little paranoid, but I know the manual says to only use 91 or above. Just don't wanna hurt my G by running lower grade gas in it.

Well if indeed you did have half a tank of 93 oct. in it then you should be around 89 octane... Which isn't all that bad IMO... I only run 91 (highest grade we have here in Cali).. I think you'll be fine, just fill it up once it hits 3/4 tank... that's what I would do at least...

your car is going to blow up.
jk.. your car should be alright. But no one ever experienced this so they can only speak for themselves. Who knows what the 86 octane will do... maybe it will make you get more mpg, less mpg, make your car run bad or maybe make it better... for the safe side ciphening the gas will be the best thing.. but it shouldn't really do anything bad since this is the first time ever you added a little bit of 86 to your already half filled tank with 96.

In jersey theres somebody to pump gas for you?? They dont have that here in Florida.
Maybe pick up a little bottle of octane booster, that may help??! It wont take you to 95 octane, but it may bring it from 89 to 90? Has anyone had any experience with this?
