Air Conditiner Question

I was wondering, would it be a problem leaving the AC on "auto" so when I turned on the car the air starts? Living in Las Vegas that would be awesome when I get my remote starter then the air is on when I get in my G so it isn't 100 degrees in my car.

Just wondering this question because I've heard before that leaving your air on in ANY car and then turning off the car would keep your air cooler lines filled and would mess up the cooler lines when you turned on the car with continuous of doing this. Then you would have problems with the AC, it would start leaking. Is this information true?

Never heard any such A/C rumours and if true I have killed the A/C system in probably 20 cars!

I have a hard enough time remembering to turn the car off less shut down the A/C and other systems before I step out....

I dont think you will have any of the problems you mentioned but you will eventually get the midew smell in your car because you did not turn the air off before you turned the motor off. Moisture will collect and make it stank.

Haha well how many years is it going to take for that? I'm not planning on keeping this car 20 years. I plan to upgrade to the new G within the next 5 years or sooner.

Does everyone leave their AC on auto?

Cool cool, I figured I needed to ask this question since living in Vegas the "auto" feature might be a good idea??

As soon as I find a remote start the air will be auto and cold!

any way to have the ac not go full blast when you turn it on everytime?
what am i missing? really annoying, would be great to have it turn on to about 1/4 or halfway, any way to set it that way instead of it always defaulting to full blast??

Take it off Auto. Press the negative fan button to turn the fan down.

The standard answer to your question is "RTFM".

Leave it when you turn off where you want it when you next start.

that doesn't work, it always defaults to full blast unless i don't turn the ac off at all, itll remember on next start up, but i don't always need the ac to turn on when i start the car automatically.

thanks for the replies, i guess im the only one with this annoying issue.

What would be really nice would be the auto mode to keep the fan speed at minimum until the AC has a chance to cool down when you first start the car. That way you don't get hot air blown in your face. My Acura RL did that, it was very intuitive. Ditto for the winter months, no cold air blown at you until the heat was available.

Anyone notice the AC condenser dripping water after you turn off the car behind the passenger side front wheel. My car takes a regular leak after I pull into work.
