Carbon Dioxide is natural but we are emitting an immense amount of it in the air thus causing an imbalance in the weather's natural state. The weather and the atmosphere was not created to adapt to human's living styles, but to the earth's natural state.

+ We are spending all this money to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and create methods that will produce energy (in a reasonably efficient manner) and emit less carbon in the atmosphere. All in hopes to bring the carbon level back to "normal"

Guys, ethanol will burn cleaner and will provide a slight increase in HP. There is also a very small penalty in mileage. It all works out even like Steven.

so what if you put 89 or 87 octane in your G? does THAT cause any harm? (other than engine performance, obviously)

No harm at all. Like you pointed out it will make less power but there will be no short term harm. But for the record it's definitely not recommended as a long term way to save at the pump.

Should not use anything less than 91 octane... there was an article in popular mechanics explaining why.

definitely use at least 91. Some areas only have 92 or 93 or higher.
