Sounds nice. But I'd be paranoid about it leaking eventually.

ya they have been around for a really long time. they are true and tested they will not leak. My S2000 had one for 37k hard miles including auto crosses track days and many many hard driving runs. never leaked a drop...

What does the dealer have to say about the Fumoto valve. I bought the full maint package with my G37 and they do all the oil changes for me. Curious as to whether the valve would get em mad.

As for me, I am glad to honor Infiniti North America's request and change every 3,750 miles to know Infiniti North America will stand behind any engine problems I might have.
My driving is average. The Internet research I have done indicates that when using synthetic oil and a good filter will allow safe change intervals of 7,500mi.

Do you know someone or a reference where warranty claims were denied due to oil change intervals?

I am not sure but the law would be on the customer's side on that one.

Except, the issue really doesn't have anything to do with your personal definition of "average". The issue is defined by Infiniti's descriptions.

I certainly can not disagree with you. A good synthetic change interval is 7,500 miles. But, Infiniti, like others, including Toyota, does not offer a longer drain interval if using synthetic.

Personally, I know of a number of different instances where warranty claims were denied solely due to oil change intervals exceeding the manufacturer's required interval. There are some web sites dealing with denied warranty claims.

I am not sure but the law would be on the customer's side on that one.
There really is no "law" on the subject. If the warranty claim is denied, your only recourse is to hire a lawyer and either file suit or proceed to mandatory arbitration. Even if you win (which, statistically speaking, is not likely), all that will happen is that Infiniti will either make the repair under warranty or pay you the cost of the repair. You will still have to pay your lawyer, which will probably cost you more than the cost of the repair. And, your car may be inoperative during the entire time.

I was just going to say that, its what alot of the Z guys use, same price and a little more filter media. Fits fine, no worries. M110 FTW

You need to keep the sales receipts for the oil and oil filters you used to do the changes with. Keep them (tape or staple) to the page of the warranty book that applies to the mileage of the change.

Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but has anyone any idea where to purchase the Mobil 1 M1-108 filter individually or in bulk at a good price? Pep Boys sells them for $12+tax... there must be cheaper vendors.

Same here BJ....Mobil 1 filters are gonna be pricey anywhere you get them (get mine at Advanced Auto Parts too)....but in this case, you pay for quality. Excellent filtration, very good flow rate.....I know Wix makes a good filter, but I've read nothing but good things about Mobil 1 filters online....either are good choices.

FWIW the Mobil 1 oil filter & K & N oil filter are the same. So just pick up which ever one is cheaper. Autozone etc. sometimes throws them on special.
