Outside Temp Problem

Outside Temp Problem
Hello,
My outside temp was reading 20-30 degrees higher than outside temp. I replaced the ambient temp sensor with a Walker brand. It is located behind the grill. After I replaced it was reading normal outside temp at idle (which it did not do before), but after running 30 minutes or so, it again reads 15 degrees higher (better than before but still...wtf).
Anything I'm missing here? It shouldn't be this hard for outside temp reading on a car.
TIA

Mine is similar, the readings are way off, especially after the car warms up. I suspect the mounting location near the radiator results in a lot of radiant heat on the sensor and thus readings that are too high. So, my solution is to switch my dash to a different screen and not look at it

I suspect the sensor location is the problem as well.
If it makes you feel better, the Z guys **** and moan about this as well: http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...-readings.html
