7AT Adaptive / learning info?
I've seen some posts about the 7AT in my 2014 G37 AWD being adaptive somehow, and that it "learns"....
What does it learn, exactly? What is is it adapting to? I'm curious to know what it's paying attention to, and what it's changing.
ALSO: what exactly does the DS "sport mode" transmission setting do? I thought maybe it would hold gears longer during acceleration, but in recent driving it doesn't seem to be doing that.
I betcha this is answered in some other thread here, if someone could point me to it....

From what I’ve found on this it’s adapting to how much of a lead foot one may have. I.e if you floor it at every light, it will learn to shift later and keep transmission line pressure high with the expectation that there will be a high load on the throttle. If you drive like grandma it will do the inverse. DS overrides what ever the transmission has learned about your driving and puts it ‘floor it at the light mode’ with the addition of engine braking. If you have paddle shifters, you can use them to put you in temporary manual mode while the shifter is still in D and DS will also keep you in manual mode.
