7AT gear indicator

I've got a 2011 g37xs sedan with a 7mt, where is the gear position sensor that tells the ecu what gear it's in??

If you have a xS, then you have an automatic transmission. There's no such thing as a 7MT for this car, so I changed your thread title.

IDK about any sensor, but the current gear for the 7AT is displayed on the LCD screen behind your wheel.

There are a few people here familiar with the ECU coding, like @MotorvateDIY . Good luck with whatever you're doing.

Thanks for fixing that, that's what I meant to put down but I guess my thumbs had other ideas lol. I'm trying to figure out how to get a signal wire put in for a pet project I'm working on to pick up what gear the car is at in any given moment and send it to a secondary computer to read for future/current use.

You may want to read through this thread as it sounds very akin to what you might be wanting to accomplish.

There is no gear position "signal" that you could easily "tap" into to tell you what gear is under load. My BMW / DCT has it where the gear shifts are on the cluster but Nissan doesn't.
