Smile 2010 G37x Intelligent Cruise Sensor

Hi all! Got a 2010 G37x sedan last Friday, absolutely fantastic car!
My only issue so far is that I've noticed my intelligent cruise control is very unreliable – only picked up a couple cars on a 1h30m drive out of probably 20-30 that I tried it on. It lost track of those two cars after 5-10 seconds, but it did seem to maintain distance while it saw them. Can't find much info online. Sensor looks slightly askew (pic here: https://i.imgur.com/LYqF5Xg.jpg) but I can't really find any great images to compare mine to online.

I'm concerned because aside from being unable to use the intelligent cruise, I'm pretty sure there are some other systems that also use this sensor which I'd like to make sure are functioning, such as the collision pre-braking. I do not have any lights on my dash and everything in the self-diagnostic menu on the center console seemed to look okay.

Can anybody offer any insight? How do I go about diagnosing the issue here? From what I have read, these things cost a ton of money to have serviced.
Also; does the traffic detection indicator light up when stationary with a car in front, or only when actively using cruise control while moving? Just wondering because that would make it a lot easier to troubleshoot.

Thanks for any help!
