Sedan, Rear Sunroof Drains

I wanted to make this post as I did not see really anyone show how to get to the rear sunroof drains for the sedan. It is very easy getting to to them, removing them is somewhat of a pain.

I wanted to replace mine just to be safe, my original ones were not leaking and seemed to be OK. I went ahead and replaced them with the new updated ones: 74816-JU40D Now: 74816-6SA0A

To get to them, remove the carpet, floor mat out of the trunk. Then remove front trunk trim (the plastic one with the hood latch) on the bottom, it is held in place by 4x clips /or trunk net hooks. Pop those out and pull the trim directly up.

Then remove the 2x push clips on the inner interior felt trim, and pull back. The sunroof drain will be a little ways back. I used some trim pry tools to get it out, you somewhat have to fight them to remove them.

I would just be careful when removing the drain hose, just carefully rotate it and slide it off the old barb.

Hope this helps someone.

As for the drivers side, you will need long needle nose pliers just like the passenger side. Yes the rear ones are easy to get too, just requires a bit of force to remove them from the frame. I recommend trim prying tools.

No problem.

And this part number is no longer valid, it is now: 74816-6SA0A.

Updated: 5/9/2024

Can still get: 74816-JU40D from Amayama.
