G37 sedan trunk lift support part numbers
Since I was unable to find anything specific on the topic and had to return the first aftermarket set I purchased because they were 17 inches vs. 12 inches (extended), I thought that I would post some part numbers here for G37 Trunk Lift Supports as I had to replace mine at 10 years.
First off, there appears to be different aftermarket PNs for with and without spoiler. OEM Spolier weighs very little, so I'm not sure this warrants a different part, but it exists and is somewhat confusing.
Sedan OEM Part Number is 84430 JK01C (2012-2013); STABILUS appears to be brand etched on support.
-Note that Z1 Motorsports lists 84430-JK000 for the 2009-2011 sedan, not sure why as the trunk appears to be the same
-No with or without spoiler for the OEM trunk lift as far as I can tell
-These run about $75 (Z1) to over $100 each
For my 2013, these aftermarket trunk lifts work great (made in Turkey, packaged nicely)
Mighty Lift Lift Support part number F96297 - https://www.autozone.com/collision-b...6297/87232_0_0
Here's the one I initially ordered that ended up being too long (looks more like a hood support vs. trunk lift)
STRONGARM 6297 Infiniti G37 Trunk Lid Lift Support -
OEM trunk lift on the left, the other two shown are the aftermarket replacements.

I tried those Mighty lift ones and they failed within a few months on me. They were made in Turkey, and not China for once lol. I agree the OEM ones are stupid expensive for what they are.
I ended up putting the Infiniti Maintenance Advantage ones a while ago and have been good. Probably the only decent thing out of that catalog lol.
Hood: E5C70-JK00KNW
Trunk: E4C30-JK01KNW

I've found you can just get the cheapest hood struts you can find as they all work the same. The trunk shocks are hard to find ones that open the trunk smoothly, don't slam the trunk open, and that last a really long time. At least for the coupes anyway.

Yeah I would agree on that.
On my Q50, the hood and trunk struts it comes with are a joke compared to the G. Trunk, it slams to close.... and the hood struts don't rise on there on for the full travel. It is this by design as I tried it on my 2023 loaner and it was the same **** lol.

For some reason it seems like Infiniti took a few steps back on certain aspects of the Q when compared to the G37. My 2000 Volvo S70 GLT had hinges that allowed the hood to open straight up in the air. You don't know how much I wish the G had that feature too. Not to mention the S70 also had a bulb out indicator that I wish the G had. I had to rely on other people to tell me I was driving around with a blown out fog and tail lights. Not to mention the low end torque the Volvo had that the G doesn't......

Not to go too off topic but yes I agree. I would say the interior is nicer on the Q, but the tilting cluster on the G is a thousand times better, the reason they did not continue it is probably it was a lot more expensive. It's weird, the Q comes with all LED's except the front door lights, rear personal lights, and trunk light lol.
You can get a powered lift gate on the Q, but I am pretty sure it's expensive and requires a bit of work to setup from what I have seen. Probably should of came with something like this from the factory or at least better struts.

I used the Boxis on the hood over a year ago and they are holding up fine.
I'll keep an eye on the Mighty Lifts, but they are working fine now.
