AutoKits X still in Business?

Hey guys,

I wanted to check with you to see if any of you have been in communication with AutoKits X (https://www.autokitsx.com/) in Oakland Park Florida since the week of 12 December.

I purchased a diffuser from them on 11/24 and they were communicating through chat(website) and email up until 12/7 or so, but they went dark after that point and I noticed that the chat on the website is no longer responding.

I've seen some other threads on the community where folks were complaining about their customer service, and up until early December, had planned on posting a positive review to help clear things up.

Before looking into litigation or discussing the matter with my credit card company, I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and see if anyone has spoken to them in the past month or so...

Mike

Similar situation when I tried to purchase carbon hood, they said they had 1 last batch of 10 hoods and then they are discontinuing the hood, put a 50% deposit and then they basically stopped communicating, after waiting several months I just hit up CC company for my refund

Thanks 14Q60awdSPORT. I will try a similar route through the CC company; it will be my first time in decades trying to seek a refund in this manner, so I guess I've been lucky. I grew up the son of a small business owner and know how tough it is to be a 1 or 2 person operation. AutoKits X had/has a nice product, so I'm puzzled as to why they wouldn't leverage a sales channel as there are dozens of vendors out there in the automotive aftermarket space.

Sometimes for some people creating a thing is a lot more fulfilling than keeping it going. Kind of like parenting.

Good luck, socket.

From the facebook groups I hear they just have a really long turn around time. Have you tried calling or emailing for updates?

I've called many times, but nobody picks up and there's no voicemail option. They send one way emails every once in a while, but really have only reliably responded via the texting option on the website. Have you contacted them over the phone?

I spoke with someone at NextLevel performance recently (they are extremely responsive) as they have sold the AutokitsX catalog for over 10 years and said AutokitsX has never hit the 22-25 business days lead time listed on their site. This is why NextLevel clearly state 2-3 months on their own site because that's when their parts will realistically ship.

So it seems that setting the correct expectations is the issue.

Here's the diffuser, which is slightly more based on the $75 shipping cost: https://nextlevelperf.com/product/au...ak-v2-diffuser

From the page:

****This is a made to order product

6-10 Weeks Production Time – Tracking will be provided once product is ready to ship. Respectfully please do not e-mail us during estimated build window asking for build updates as we do not get daily updates on the items progress. Thank you

Personally I try avoid doing business with any company who will not respond to customers. It sucks when sometimes there are no other options. Crazy how many poorly ran businesses are out there.

For the most part I am the same, but the choices are few if you want a diffuser for the sedan (AutoKitsX) or the very best pricing for replacement parts (RockAuto)
