Code p1092 FSM procedure

Hello I currently just swapped out my motor with a 90k mile one but the VVEL control Shaft position sensor on bank 2 was broken from the harness connection. I found out how to fix the issue and got a brand new sensor. Only thing im confused on is if I have to use ECUTEK to read the voltage or can I just use a good ob2 scanner or voltage reader. If so which ob2 scanner or how can I do it with voltage reader. Thank you

These are the steps to fixing my issue via the FSM

If you have ECUTEK, it would be easiest to just plug it turn the ignition on and look at "VVEL Position Sensor Bank #1" ...and #2" set this to .50 Volts.

If you dont have ECUtTEK, you have to use a multi meter at the VVEL control module. Turn the ignition on, hook up your multi meter and adjust VVEL it until you have a value from 452 to 548mv. I believe You will have to leave the connector attached so you need to probe the pins from behind.

E15 Connector is in the Engine bay per PG-107 of my 2011 FSM and Harness connector is shown on PG42

Okay thank you so much for this info. So basically to my understanding if using the e15 connector and connecting the positive on the proper wire(For bank 1/2) and the negative to ground i can set it to those values? Or can I use the harness connector that connects directly to the sensor?

Follow the section of the FSM you posted. Do not use a random ground point or the wires at the other end of the E15 connector, .500 mv is what the module needs to read and will be different if you use a different ground reference point. That's why the instructions are telling you to take the measurements at the module.

Hey im still stuck on this problem because it seems like the Crank Shaft Position Sensor doesn’t line up with the bolt holes when it is at .500. Is there a left and a right sensor?

You ever got this issue fixed? If so, what was it?
