M7 09 G37 sedan threw a P1571 code infiniti (Traction Control Torque Request Circuit) today. Car drives just fine no issues. Can someone tell me what this code is and how to fix it. I hope I can do it myself and not get screwed by a shop.

Is the SES light ON?
Is the code persistent? ie, did you clear the code and it recurred?

I have searched every FSM I have- from the GT-R to the Z, the G's to the Q's- and not one mention a P1571 code. Even google is useless. Being that it is a P1xx means that it is manufacturer (Nissan)-specific, so there is no telling what Nissan has assigned to this code.

I will keep searching...

Bought the car at auction and had a dead battery. New battery and drove for 80 miles before it came on. Everything else works good

Hmmm... I seriously can not find anything on Nissan using P1571, anywhere.

THIS IS JUST A SHOT IN THE DARK!, however, for shi*ts and giggles, P1572 refers to the brake pedal switch. Look underneath the dash and check the brake and ASCD (cruise control) switches at the brake pedal (and clutch switch if 6MT). These switches have rubber pads that press the plunger portion of the switch(es). These pads have a history of popping off causing the switch to become inoperable and cause erratic issues.

Aside from that I am out of ideas but will keep looking. Maybe others will have some ideas in the interim...

According to Google P1571 is GM (Chevy, Bucik, Caddy, etc) code referring to traction control torque limiting. ILM-NC G37S is correct in that it doesnt seem to cross to Nissan. I searched my 14 Q60 and 07 Altima manual, not there. (not that i expected it to show in the Altima manual)
What method did you use to read the code? - phone app / code reader - parts store - dealership - etc.?

Used a code reader at a local shop I was getting an inspection at.
When I googled it I found Infiniti traction control torque circuit was for that code.
I checked the brake pedal like you suggested and everything looked good.
I did notice the cruise control does not work so Ill check the fuse for that today.

I even checked the GT-R FSM which yielded nothing. Being a P1xxx code, it is manufacturer-specific. For GM it is traction control, for Subaru it is a BCM/ Immobilizer issue. For all we know, Nissan may not even use that code, but... the search continues.

Not the pedal, but the switches that are mounted on the pedal. There should be two- one for the brake lights and the other for the cruise control. These are known to cause issues.

Does the CRUISE in the gauge cluster illuminate when you press the CRUISE switch on the steering wheel (to turn the system ON- not SET)? In other words, does the CRUISE system turn ON but won't SET the desired speed?

Yes sorry that what I meant. The switches look fine.
No there is no light and the cruise does NOT turn on

From here on in, ASCD= cruise control..

You need to check to make sure that the rubber pads are intact. They will be between that black metal bracket and the plunger of each switch. Again, that was only a shot in the dark to begin with. I do not think that is your issue as the ASCD system will not even turn on. I am getting the feeling that your P1571 is tied to the ASCD somehow.

Do you have the standard or "Intelligent" cruise control? (3 or 4 cruise buttons on the wheel)

You have the "Intelligent Cruise Control" system (ICC):

If you haven't already, download a copy of the factory service manual from here (NicoClub). For this you will want section CCS (Cruise Control System) and PG (Power & Ground) but I would strongly suggest you download the whole manual as these links have been known to go dead from time to time.

That said, aside from checking all of your fuses, there is a self-diagnostic for the ICC:

Running the diagnostic will tell you if there are any system-specific codes which we can then use to narrow down the issue. If the diagnostic will not run, then we can narrow down the issue even further.

I know you said you bought this car at auction, do you have any of the history of the car? Accident, flood, other issues?
