Turn signal and brake light issues

I have a couple lighting issues on my car im hoping someone has the answers to, I've looked at some of the other posts but couldnt quite figure out my problems with them.

I noticed my left turn signal dash light was blinking really fast, the orange running/parking light is on like normal and the light flashes brighter with the hazards on but wont flash for the left turn signal. I saw in some of the other posts people were talking about the clock spring and the blinker module/relay. Everything on my steering wheel still works like normal though. Also what is the correct blinker bulb? Ive heard 7440 and 7444na but not sure which one is correct. My other issue is my third brake light went out, i havent had a chance to check the connection but does anyone know the part number for it in case i need to replace it?

I'd appreciate it if anyone might know of some things ti try.

Usually when the turn signal "hyperblinks" (flashes really fast) you have a turn signal bulb blown. As for bulb sizes I believe both front & rear use 7440's, except being the front does not have amber lenses they use the 7440na bulb (the "na" refers to the bulb having a "natural amber" color). Others can correct me if I'm wrong.

As to the rear "High Mounted Stop Lamp," that unit is one complete LED lamp assembly- meaning the bulbs can not be easily replaced (unless you want the hassle of soldering in new LED's). The entire lamp assembly must be replaced as a whole. I would check the connector just to make sure it is connected/ getting power & ground, etc. and also that your main brake lights operate when you press the pedal. If the lamp is completely dead, I would find a used unit off eBay. Used they range from $20-50 while a new unit, p/n: 26590-JK00A runs $388.

But the thing is with the bulb its still on for the normal parking/running light and still flashes for the hazards, it just doesnt flash for the blinker.

I don't think there is a "blinker module relay" in our Gs. Pretty sure the blinker and hazard pulses are all generated by the BCM. So it doesn't make sense that you have the correct flash for hazard but not for the turn indicator. Is it possible you have an LED in the front left? Sometimes they don't load the circuit correctly and can cause weird errors. Start the car, put it in park, put the hazards on and look at all corners. Do the same with the parking lights on. And one more time with the turn indicators to make sure all corners are doing, or not doing what you think they are.

There were issues with that center brake light on our old G35s and I remember replacing one - and it was a PITA to get it in and out. As ILM suggests, check the wiring harness first to be sure it's receiving power and ground, and also that your main 2 brake lights are operating as expected.

Yea thats what ive done, all parking lights work like normal, all hazards work like normal but the front left blinker just doesnt flash. And the left signal dash light rapidly flashes.

That's truly bizarre. What year is your G?
Gotta start by replacing that bulb. Or even swapping the two front turn signal bulbs to see if it moves to the right.

Start here:
https://www.nicoclub.com/service-man...2008%2FEXL.pdf
Scroll down below that window and "Click here to download a copy". That should give you the circuits, wire colors, connectors, etc. so you can trace it to be sure power and ground are getting to that rear lamp. I think all the "bulbs" in your tail lamp are LEDs so if you've lost only the "ring" on one side it could be an interior failure - which would be a PITA to try to repair. If you confirm power and ground are getting there but it won't light then I might suggest hitting Ebay for a used complete (and functional) 08 coupe tail lamp for your car.

2012? Not "08 G37S Auto Black"? I've pointed you to the 08 Coupe book ... which shows these bulb specs (which are similar to 2013 just fyi)

Is the WHOLE "RING" out or just a few of the individual LED's?

Brake lights are LED and are NOT user-serviceable. If you have soldering skills and a ton of patience, maybe. But even then opening these rear light assembles is extremely trying.

Best bet, unless the whole ring is out I would ignore it for the time being. IF the whole ring is out then either there is a wiring issue or a catastrophic failure within the circuit board.

Yes, the whole ring is out.

Yes that should be a direct replacement.

HOWEVER, if you have the skills, I would first check to make sure that the wiring is good. Ensure the brake wire is getting voltage when pressing the brake pedal and that the ground connections are good. IF the wiring checks out good THEN you can replace the light assembly.

The EXL and PG sections of the factory manual will explain troubleshooting procedures.

Do all the other lights within the same assembly work: turn signal, parking light, reverse? Or is the whole assembly dead?

I am not a fan of throwing parts at a problem without fully identifying the problem. Just my 10¢...
