Question Oil Pressure Gauge Questions

I'm looking to install a oil pressure gauge in my 2008 G35. What are my best options for affordable kits/gauges and what is the install like? Please let me know, I have no experience in installing such a thing. Btw, I'm thinking about mounting the gauge here. The A-pillar gauges are too flashy for my taste.

That would be a really fun project. My good friend is a expert in this field. I'll write up on it in the future. In the mean time, I plan on doing a complete navigation swap.

If you can wait, Frank at @MotorvateDIY is coming up with a Bluetooth solution to this.
Meaning no wires thorugh the car and it would all read from a tablet device and has the ability to display multiple gauges.

These cares are already saturated in wiring and if proper install is not done you run the risk of a water leak onto your BCM or inside the car along with having to tap into ignition powered systems to obtain your power signals for these gauges.
It will be revolutionary.

Why? The "newest" you could swap to is 2014/2015- meaning that the "new" unit will already be 6/7 years old... Do your research on this... It is A LOT of work for potentially minimal gains.

I think many of us are eagerly waiting to see how this develops and, once completed, how we can maybe take it further...

I know it's silly, but if I can get a good deal from a junkyard then I don't see why not. I would plan on adding a backup camera to go with it. It would be a fun project. I saw this thread about it.

Never silly. If it is something you want to do to your car that will bring you even more satisfaction, then go for it. That's why we modify our cars. I did the swap and have ZERO regrets. I just want you to be fully aware that the swap is NOT a plug-and-play deal (unless you buy the aftermarket harness kit (=$$$$$).

Good luck!

Just be aware, the one oil pressure sending unit uses BSP threads. Not NPT !
