VR30 trans swap 2013 Sedan
So, I have already bought a Q50 trans, but had to get my car up and running, so I bought a cheap stock tranny to just get it running. But, 2 days later, car won't go into any gear. To clarify, it shifts gears, back up camera works in reverse, but every gear is like neutral. Even in 1st in sport mode, I get nothing.
But the main point is, I want to do the swap. I know what I need to do as far as swapping the TCM and making the hole for the crank sensor, and drilling new holes in the brace. And, I've seen alot of people talking about it doesn't line up on the bottom bolts, but I really sort mind. My question is, what drive shaft do I need?? I've asked the few people that have done it, but don't get a straight answer. I would have it resized, but I can't find anyone within 75-100 miles from me willing to cut into it and rebalance it. I think I saw somewhere that the DSS coupe driveshaft will be 1/2 inch shorter than my stock one. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of this? Or is there a better option?

@twin_snails Thank you for the advice. I got up with him, and got the driveshaft ordered. It will be about 7-9 weeks to get it made and delivered. I went with the DSS coupe driveshaft. I also got my car up and going again for the time being. As soon as I get an exact delivery date, I will go ahead and take my stock trans out, and remove the TCM and get it switched over so it's ready to go. In the mean time, I'm going to got with the SOHO long tube intakes and SOHO single exit and Y-pipe. Still thinking about longtube headers instead of the crappy test pipes I already have. Probably OBX. And once I have her pieced together, I'll run down to H-town to see Monsef at Admin.👍

And to answer your question, yes, they are the same transmission on all 3.0TT. There is no difference between them at all.
I actually recommend getting the regular VR30 trans, it will definitely be cheaper, as most places will market the fact is a Red Sport. And definitely pick one up soon, over the next few months, they will definitely sky rocket in price. I got mine for 460 shipped. And the DSS coupe drive shaft was 565ish on sale right now. But, driveshafts are manufactured to order, so build time is roughly 8-10 weeks, and I can only see that being lengthened. So if you plan on doing this, and have $1100-$1200 right now, definitely hop on it.

@smokey grey 37 appreciate the advice, I've been leaning towards those as well, I will check pricing on the Admin intakes, I know they are "the best damn intakes on a VQ37HR"
And after going through the headers, I'm definitely going to look into other options.

@DW_G37'13sedan Awesome dude! Glad he was able to get your questions answered. He was the first person I'd seen attempt the swap. In one of his YT videos, he puts the VR30 transmission next to the G37 transmission and it is definitely beefed up for sure. The torque converter is also a lot larger on the VR transmission. I'm in for pics as well as I'd love to see the process.

Looking forward to the progress I have a one piece alum DS currently that is a little short (thanks driveshaftpro) so I might be able to get away with using that for the VR trans if I get one.

But when you factor in the motor plus the ECU it gets a little pricey. Hoping crypto trading will help me get there 😅. Last I checked the motor alone is still running around 4500-5000, ecu is only about 200. While the 3.7 is around 1k for a low mileage motor in excellent shape.

If nothing else, you can fund someone to resize and balance that one. Problem is finding someone willing to do it on the stock driveshaft.
