I think different shops have varying yoke stickouts where it goes into the transmission, so if they made it a little short then it might work

With VQ 7-speed

With VR 7-speed (Don't mind the fluid, I had just popped it out and back in so it dribbled a little). Note the cutout to the transmission mounting brace to accommodate the new transmission. The cutout does not seem to affect the sturdiness of the mount. I also had to cut/shorten the shifter linkage as you can see from the photo where I cut and put a blob of weld (a ****ty one) on the linkage.

How do you like the CF driveshaft? Do you notice quicker revving?

I see some space there, if that measures half an inch then it *might* work or might not. Maybe take it to a driveline shop to shorten it for you, might be cheaper than getting a new one.

I love it. Huge difference from the factory driveshaft. Unfortunately I was told that it can't be done. So, I have to get an aluminum one

I wonder how much different the aluminum would feel compared to the carbon fiber
