Just had this issue pop up on the freeway. The cruise light comes on when turned on however the toggle switch that sets speed does nothing. Anyone have any clues what this issue is all about?

Edit: did some testing on the way to work and it seems to be an issue with the brake pedal. If I pull up on it I can set the cruise control but it will shut off shortly after I let go. Is there a contact I can clean/spring I can tease out/switch I can replace that alleviates this issue?

There is an "ADSC cancel switch" on the brake pedal arm, under the dash. This is the switch that cancels the cruise control when you tap the brake pedal.
The switch could be loose, needs adjustment or needs to be replaced.

There is also a small, rubber pad that goes between the ASCD (cruise control) switch and the brake pedal- sort of a "bump stop" if you will. You can check to see if that is missing.

Either way, you should be able to adjust/replace the switch in just a few minutes.

Thanks folks. I see the switch has a little adjustment nut on it. Should be an easy fix.
