What's the difference Sport Sedan and Journey?

Hey guys,
I am fairly new to the G world. I am looking to buy a G37 Sport Sedan 6MT maybe a Journey. I have been looking around and have a little confusion between the Journey and the Sport. I was under the impression sport has a different bumper, sport wheels, the larger brakes, VLSD and stiffer suspension. But I have been seeing a couple journey’s with sport brakes sport wheels and the sport bumper. Can someone elaborate on the difference.

OK. This is new to you, but like the millionth time for members. Anyway, here goes:

Appearance items include:
  • Wheels
  • Front bumper
  • Seats
  • Side sills
  • Headlights
  • Flappy paddles (automatic only)

All those things come with the Sport Package, regardless RWD or AWD. However, the Sport Package on the RWD Sedan (and the 6MT) include the following:
  • Big brakes
  • Sport-tuned shocks
  • Close ratio steering
  • VLSD rear differential
  • Staggered wheels
Pretty much every Sedan with the Sport Package also came with the Premium Package and Navigation.

The 6MT is basically the Journey Sport, but with a manual transmission. The 6MT is not actually a Journey... it was its own sub-model. Also, it's relatively rare. If you're looking for a 6MT Sedan, you'll have to cast a wide net.

Here, this lays it all out: https://www.infinitihelp.com/models/...ifications.php

Thank You! Having a chart helps a lot !
Looks like to me a Journey can be optioned with anything that a sport has, just comes down to if you will find a Journey with those options.

You're welcome. I bookmarked that page years ago. Comes in very handy.

"Sport" isn't a sub-model, it's an optional Package on the Journey and AWD, and included by default with the 6MT.

The easiest thing to do is look at the badge (assuming it's still there, LOL):
  • The Journey Sport will have the G37S badge on the trunk.
  • The 6MT will have the G37S badge on the trunk.
  • The Journey non-Sport will just have the G37 badge on the trunk... no "S".
  • The AWD non-Sport will have G37x.
  • And the AWD Sport (appearance) will have G37xS.

You might see people using the phrase "Sport Appearance Package", but AFAIK that was never actually a thing, and is commonly used to reference the Sport Package on the AWD Sedan, because there's virtually no actual performance upgrades... except for the 18" non-staggered wheels, arguably useless flappy paddles, and front calipers which are a small mechanical upgrade over the standard non-sport brakes.

I have one of the few Sport sedans without Nav. I looked specifically for a Nav-delete car.

Why? Isn't the non-nav screen really crappy and low res? Just don't use the nav?

Also means no bluetooth streaming. Seems like having nav would be a bonus?

Is there a reason this information cant be stickied to the top of the forum for everyone that asks it? It would be much easier to link that thread info instead of retyping it each time

I didn't even compare screens. i just feel nav is for the unprepared. I might have reconsidered if I'd known I would later carry more than four thousand songs on my phone. But in 2011, that wasn't on my radar.

Good idea. Let's do that and see what happens with it.

The chart is awesome it leaves no real room for interpretation, clearly describes every package/option you could get for a G. Thank you again! I am surprised this is just getting stickied now!

For some people, most people these days, preparation simply means entering the destination in the Nav system. AAA TripTiks are still available, but I can't imagine there's much demand anymore.

I don't think you can get 4000 songs on the Music Box. Last I looked, mine is max'd out at 120 digital albums. I could be wrong, tho. Haven't really explored it in the last 8 years.

Recently I rediscovered Voice Recognition in my car... completely forgot it was there. (It's not very good.)

The voice is absolutely terrible, but I remember back in 2007 we thought it was the coolest thing.

That is rare. I also don’t see the point of nav. I was trying to find a G37 sedan with no sunroof/moonroof but it is really difficult to find.
