That's good to hear. I think what is holding me back is that they remind me of the stereo ***** from an 80's Boom box, and I like 80's stuff.

The cheap ***** have a notch. Our radio doesn't actually work like that, so the notch would drive me nuts. Other than that, they look fine, but lack the precision milled look of the Carsmos.

So in a 3-point turn example, it'll make a clunking sound when the first point is complete and I switch into reverse and start moving, and once again when I start moving forward from a stop and complete the turn. Does this sound like end-links? Car is at almost 160k km, I have the 370z rear sway with OEM X front sway, as far as I know PO did not change end-links and I've had the car since 108k.
Thanks in advance.
This sounds like what I had when the giubo went bad on my BMW's drive shaft. This is a composite/rubber "plate" between the transmission and the drive shaft that acts as a universal joint. You may want to check your drive shaft/universal joints...

My best MOD was the Hotchkis sways...

I just did it myself. Took a few evenings of working on it but turned out great.

There's a separate thread for this someplace, but here's a nifty little device to add a usb port to the left side the dash.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ABS-Car-2-1...n/283348271089

You will have to relocate one of the switches elsewhere (or disconnect entirely). I chose to hide the rear sonar switch behind the panel as I never turn that feature off.

With the usb port right there, I run a short 18" cable to the phone or gps mounted on the lower left of the windshield. Keeps cable clutter to a minimal and the phone is right at eye level.

Found the original thread: https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...voltmeter.html

So for a long time my favorite mod was my Sparco seat. The Bell Raceworks rear differential brace is definitely giving it a run for its money. The brace is definitely more bang for the buck. I am still amazed at how such a small piece can make such a big difference in the feel of the car and how it puts the power down now. However, it dawned on me that this part is probably going to make changing rear diff oil a bit of a pain. I think the benefits still far outweigh the disadvantages.

It does..Requires taking out bottom bolts and loosening the top nut that attaches to the sub frame. Gives you the ability to maneuver the hex head into the fill hole; and have an angle to crack it loose and tighten it once you're finished. Took me about an extra 15-20 minutes.

Here's an on-topic question (off-topic from the thread), but whatever...

4DRZ, do you have an interval in your head for rear diff gear oil changes? I was using original fluid for 6 years and 35k miles before the gear swap. After the gear mod, I changed fluid again at maybe 1000 miles later as best-practice advice when getting new gears. Anyway, it's been 8k miles since.

I mean, probably can go another 35k miles on diff gear oil, but since you're talking about it... what do you think?

And looking back at this thread, I stand by my original response: #1 gears, #2 STS, #3 swaybars

Not answering for 4DRZ, but...

Diff and trans fluid for me are usually at acquisition of the car and then at 5 year intervals. I'd say 50k mile service, but I think the year standard is better than the mileage unless you track or otherwise beat the snot out of the car.

Race car, offroad rig - once a year, with the best Redline you can buy, OR anytime the transmission oil or diff has overheated.

Thanks for confirming that. I wasn't 100% sure if I would have to take the brace off entirely or not.

I would say for street use with the different gears it is probably not a bad idea to change the oil a bit more often than recommended. But the best thing to do is just pop the top bolt and check the color of the fluid.

I was thinking I would only get about 2-3 track days out of my Redline rear differential fluid, but it still looked brand new after my last track event.

So far one of the best aesthetically mods has been the GTR start button.

It compliments the black interior so much and looks like it came like that from factory, I have an anniversary edition sedan so it goes perfectly with my red seat.

Best mod by far has to be the sway bars. Per dollar spent, this has given the car the most improvement over any other mod.
