The float on your fuel pump is probably sticking. If you can't check it yourself, your dealer can.

My G's fuel guage is the same way. My drive way is elevated and everytime I park my fuel guage moves a bit more to empty. After 5 min my fuel guage then moves higher. I figure the elevation moves the gas around inside and disrupts the device that determines the amount of fuel. It shocked me once because I just put a full tank of gas and noticed it moved significantly overnight lol. I also noticed the fuel guage moves to empty faster than it should. I remember the car telling me to refuel and when I placed gas it filled up to 15 gallons or so and our G's have a 20 gallon tank.

Do you park on a steeply angled surface?
