Have any of you bought eBay grilles?

$179 is cheap, considering the OEM midnight black grille is $300+, and JDM grilles (the name escapes me) are even more expensive.

What do you think? Have any of you tried this grille? I imagine all the other similar eBay listings are for the same Chinesium grille sold by different resellers.

If your grill is in good shape I'd just paint that, and check Rochesters' build thread, he paint matched the outside edges to the body color and the middle is black, looks awesome, and probably similar in price to that grill you linked.

And if you've got the rest of the day free, the rest of his thread is pretty good too!

Thanks for the link. I quickly looked at it and you're right, the color matching looks great.

My concern is my own ability to paint. I'll look more through his thread after work in case he offers tips on doing it, but do you know of anyone on the forums who offers such a service?

I'd eventually like to paint my rear view mirrors and headlight chrome black to match the grille, but I'm not confident enough to do all that myself.

That would be a job for a local body/paint shop, just check around your area and get recommendations for good shops, should be a fairly easy job for an experienced shop.

Actually, after 4 years, the Moonlight White on the grille perimeter is no longer a match for the MW on the bumper. I mean, it's good enough not to do anything about it, but if you eyeball the setup you'll realize the colors no longer match. But that's the case with most "pearl" white, 3-staged auto paints. The white always ages differently depending on the surface. Just does.

OP, I had it professionally painted at a local body shop. Cost me $275.

I think this treatment looks great on any color 2010+ Sedan, doesn't have to be MW. For example:

Already painted thats a great price. I had my Impul grill (one of those JDM ones you were talking about.. looking back probably blew too much on it lol) painted, along with my spoiler and a new sport bumper for $450. So probably, in total, spent like $300-$400 at least on it.

Yes, never again. It looked very nice and the fit was perfect!

That is until I started driving the car and the paint chipped...fast.

In the process of wrapping it so it doesn't bother me anymore.

Ugh. I would buy this in an instant but apparently no one makes these for 07-08 sedans

It says in their vehicle listings 09 Sedans, but unless there's another version they're not showing that would be a slight fitment issue
