What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?

I've been eyeing the 2017 QX50 as a possible future replacement to my wife's Cruze if we decide to get a crossover-type vehicle for her. It's the last year that came with the VQ37VHR and they are very reasonably priced with lower mileage. The reliability and power of our motor is a strong contributing factor for me in that decision. I just don't know how I'd feel about having two of the essentially same cars in our garage lol, one just being a crossover variant.
If we went with a 2018 or newer, then it comes with a turbo-4cyl (which is fine) but it's paired to a CVT and I just don't like the idea of having a CVT, although newer ones may be better than when the technology was newer in the earlier 2000's.

Our Forester is the Touring Edition. The Mav XLT has less tech and a much more crude cabin than our 6 year old Subby. Perhaps the Lariat would be more comparable.

I'm assuming everyone has already read everything there is to read about the new Dodge Charger, right?
Pretty big news yesterday. 5900 pounds of electric muscle car.

6000 pounds does seem nuts. Heavy cars go through tires a whole lot faster... duh!
I really like the look of the 2-door, and the lift-back design, and the interior isn't as horrible as I was expecting, but overall I'm not love-at-first-sight with it.
The AWD and good performance specs for the entry level R/T are encouraging. But the size of this thing is just bonkers.

My R is about 3400#
Our B9 A4 was 3700# ish (probably similar to a G37)
New A6 tips the scales around 4300#
Those jumps in weight feel HUGE driving back to back. 6000 pounds is just ridiculous, sorry. Might as well just get a full size truck. And I say that as someone who hates trucks.

I see a lot of EVs just ripping on it. Like, way faster than I’d drive in the same circumstance. And I’m definitely not a slow driver

I read somewhere that EVs have higher accident claims, one of the reasons being that for a lot of people they are the fastest cars they’ve ever owned and the instant on acceleration.

Anyone interested in a new Z? Just went to nissan dealership locally and they are actually selling the higher end model at a discount! Because if they sell it, Nissan sends them more. $52k price. Good deal for it.
