Nobody. That's why I don't take these car magazines serious anymore when it comes to performance test.

It seems like a stupid metric. Automatics obviously downshift, so not quite sure the point of leaving a manual in top gear except.
I was wondering when someone would do a comparison like this. The results were not a surprise and I agree, it is difficult to justify the extra money (over $8k in this test) for the Acura. Especially since tuning the suspension and exhaust in the Type R to be more like the Acura seems pretty simple.
I noticed that too. The article was basically telling you to mod your Civic. That was interesting.
What I don't understand is why the Acura seems so much easier to get than the Civic Type R. Our Honda store has had exactly one Type R in the last year, but our Acura store has seen 3 Type S's in the last two months. Maybe Honda is realizing that the Acura version is more profitable for them.
Part of the allure of the Type R is it's (artificial) scarcity. Honda could make tons of them and sell them all - but marketing says not to in order to pump up buzz.
So this beast just came in on trade at our BMW store across the street. There is just something about the understated aggressive style and shape of this car with those wide fenders and the naughty sounds that V8 makes. The service bills would probably bankrupt me, but man would it be fun as a daily driver. What a car!

What!?! It's not cheap for sure, but more like $4-$5,000 because I believe you have to pull the motor. I can get a new motor and trans for less than $30k. It is the S4 that has issues with that, but the RS4 is supposedly a lot more "reliable." But like I mentioned earlier, it would probably bankrupt me at some point. Sure would be fun though.

Motor and transmission because the chain is in the back of the motor in-between the transmission . I saw a video on YouTube and the comments were saying that's how much it cost.
