What vehicle will be a worthy replacement for your sedan when it is time?

re. the Titan... I distinctly remember going to the beach once with friends years ago in a Toyota Sequoia. Four adults, four children, and a load of beach gear. It was kind of amazing. Like a personal, upscale bus. I got nothing bad to say about that.

I had a few cars checked for insurance rates. Aside from the 08 continental gt i had them check an 08 hummer h2, a 2011 cts v, a 2016 camaro ss, a 2011 corvette grand sport, and a 2019 buick regal tourx. Cheapest to insure was the vette. Buick was about $20 more yearly, hummer was $100 more, cts v and camaro were the most expensive.

Everybody has different opinions, for sure. But if you're going for conspicuous consumption, I think the Continental has a whole lot more class than a 15 year old Hummer.
But then I also think a bucket of chicken has more class than a Hummer.
When I was 23, that was normal. These days it can be crippling.

I know hummers are somewhat controversial among car enthusiasts. H1s are cool but expensive and not really comfortable from what I've heard, h3 isn't bad looking but an inline 5 or a 5.3 vortec with 300 hp isn't intriguing to me in a 6000 pound suv, my particular choice would have to be an 08 or 09 h2. 400 hp 6.2 v8 will get it done. I've heard with some bolt ons and a tune you can get 17 mpg highway. Better than my charger and I've never gotten over 18 mpg in my Infiniti assuming the on board mpg calculator is correct. Nice to have that ground clearance and awd system for snow or for some of off road areas around here, nothing official just some dirt trails people have gone over over the years. Vette would be about the best performance car for my budget in my opinion, golf r would be the most practical if I'm going to supercharge my Infiniti in the long run and try to get some real power from it, didn't get an insurance quote for it though. I think I'm going to pass on the camaro or cts v.

H1 is a military tool. It is brutal and awesome, but it isn't classy or comfortable. If you need to survive the apocalypse and can find some way to fuel it (mil ones are multifuel) then good on ya.
H2/H3 are badge engineered rebodied Suburbans etc. Why would I add a 2000 pound bodykit to an already massive SUV, just to get worse visibility?
If you really want something that blunt-instrument, figure out what has been airdropped into combat. H1, Land Rover certain models (defender I think?), Unimog, Toyota Hilux
Edited to add: Unimog 6x6 is on the dream list. Drove several in Frankfurt-am-Main air base and Bitburg/Spangdahlem AB in the 90s and 00s and they're very cushy max-effort vehicles. Would recommend.

Trucks and big suvs in general are so utilitarian and becoming so luxurious that a lot of people are buying them instead of luxury cars now. It is a lot easier to do now since most trucks and large suvs ride well and are quiet. It was sure a different story 20 years ago.

Personally I'm not a fan of the suburban or tahoe body styles after the square body went away. I wouldn't mind an fj cruiser but my girlfriend has one and i don't really see the need for 2 of the same vehicle. Personally i like the hummer body style and the h2 has the engine to back it up.

The h2 was offered with the 6.0 vortec or the 6.2 l92 in the 08 and 09 models as opposed to the inline 5 or 5.3 in the h3. If i got an h2 it would have to be the 6.2

Definitely not fast, any vehicle that heavy will never be a fast car for me. Especially considering even if it was fast it'd likely roll taking a corner hard. Just meant that the 6.2 especially had the power to move that 6600 pounds well. I've seen people supercharge them, one guy on YouTube claims to have 1000 hp. Personally I'd throw some bolt ons and maybe a cam and diablosport tuner and call it a day power wise.

Just looked it up out of curiosity, 08 h2 runs 15.7 quarter mile. Its interesting because supposedly the 08 fj cruiser my girlfriend has should run the same but its got a 4.0 v6 pushing 240 and weighs about 4300 pounds. Weird how that power to weight evens out. Gearing probably different too though. Neither one are fast but i could probably take a pontiac fiero in a 1/4 mile and it weighs 2800 pounds

A Fiero would be very cool. Get one of those.

I really was considering one, always wanted an 87 gt after i test drove one. The ones at dealerships are way overpriced, sometimes you can find a good one on Facebook marketplace for $4000 or less. I've heard the v6 engines were fairly reliable and i thought the stock exhaust actually sounded pretty good.
